Oriental herbal practice uses specific natural plants in a unique and synergistic combination with each other, for the promotion of health and wellness, alongside advice regarding getting the best nutrition from foods and a healthy lifestyle. Herbs can be used on their own or in conjunction with acupuncture. Different parts of the plant are used, such as roots, leaves, flowers and seeds, each of which have particular healing properties.
Herbs can be prescribed in various forms, such as granules that can be dissolved in hot water or raw herbs for decoction (boiled) and taken as a tea.
